Bible Synapse

Nothing on Bible Synapse belongs to Bible Synapse. The Bible texts, translations, commentaries, devotions, dictionaries, data, maps, illustrations, photographs, fonts and software you see here are the work of their respective owners, or are in the public domain. The site only gathers them in one place for free, non-commercial Bible study, and claims no ownership of any of them. Every owner is named on the Credits & ownership page.

The short summaries and answers written for the site are built from the sources they cite, and the facts and ideas in them belong to those sources.

Not the site’s own work

The information on Bible Synapse is not the site’s own. It is gathered from the Bible texts, commentaries, books, data sets, maps, images and other works of their respective owners, each credited on the Credits & ownership page. The site claims no ownership of that material, and its owners are not responsible for how it is arranged or presented here.

No endorsement or connection

Naming a source, an author, a publisher, a museum or a website does not mean that it is connected with Bible Synapse, approves of it, or agrees with anything on it. Likewise, linking to a website does not mean that Bible Synapse agrees with everything on that website.

Accuracy

The material has been checked against the sources it cites, but mistakes are possible. Dates on the timeline follow the traditional chronology (Ussher and Jones) and are approximate. Locations of ancient places can be uncertain, and the site marks the uncertain ones. Archaeological dates and readings follow mainstream scholarship, which can change. Please check anything important against the original sources linked on each page.

How the summaries were written

The short texts written for the site (explanations of connections, archaeology summaries, answers to hard questions, reflections and plans) were drafted with the help of AI writing tools and then checked against the sources they cite before being published. They summarise those sources; they do not replace them.

Religious content

The site is a study aid. Its answers to questions about alleged contradictions take the view that the Bible, in its original writings, is true, and they set out how passages fit together. They also give other Christian answers and say when a question is still open. They do not claim to prove anything, and readers are encouraged to read the passages for themselves and to weigh other views. Commentaries and devotions reflect the opinions of their authors, many of them writing centuries ago.

Not professional advice

Nothing on the site is legal, medical, financial, psychological or other professional advice, or a substitute for pastoral care.

Availability

The site depends on outside services and open data that may change or disappear. Parts of it may stop working without notice.
