Explained connections
- Noah's faith
Noah is called righteous and blameless, a man who walked with God. Hebrews says by faith, warned about things not yet seen, he built the ark, and so condemned the world.
- Noah, a preacher of righteousness
Noah found grace in God's eyes. Peter calls him a preacher of righteousness, preserved with seven others — evidence that God knows how to rescue the godly.
- Saved through the ark
Noah builds the ark that carries eight people through the judgement of the flood. Peter uses the story as a pattern of salvation through judgement, which he links to baptism in the next verse.
