Explained connections
- The righteous shall live by faith
Habakkuk, troubled by coming Babylonian invasion, is told the righteous will live by faithfulness while waiting for God. Paul makes this the theme verse of Romans: God's righteousness is revealed from faith to faith. It later became the watchword of the Reformation.
- Creation declares God's glory
The heavens declare God's glory without words. Paul argues that God's eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen through what he made, so people are without excuse.
