Explained connections
- "A body hast thou prepared me"
The psalmist says God did not desire sacrifices but opened his ears to obey. Hebrews quotes the Greek version, which reads 'a body you prepared for me', and puts the words in Christ's mouth at his coming: his obedient self-offering replaces animal sacrifice.
- I delight to do your will
The psalmist delights to do God's will, with God's law in his heart. Jesus says his food is to do the will of the one who sent him and finish his work.
