Explained connections
- Found by those who did not seek me
Isaiah has God say he was found by those who did not seek him. Paul applies it to the Gentiles who embraced Christ without having pursued God's law.
- New heavens and a new earth
Isaiah first announces that God will create new heavens and a new earth where former troubles are forgotten. Revelation sees that promise fulfilled; much of Revelation 21–22 is woven from Isaiah 60–66.
- Waiting for the new creation
Peter tells believers to look for new heavens and a new earth 'according to his promise' — pointing back to Isaiah. Hope for renewed creation, not escape from it, shapes Christian ethics.
- The wolf and the lamb
Isaiah pictures predators and prey living in peace under the coming king. He returns to the image in his new-creation chapter, showing restored peace as part of God's final renewal.
