Explained connections
- Written on hearts of flesh
Ezekiel contrasts hearts of stone and flesh. Paul says the Corinthians are a letter written by the Spirit not on stone tablets but on tablets of human hearts — new covenant ministry.
- Ministers of a new covenant
Paul calls himself a minister of the new covenant, of the Spirit rather than the letter. He contrasts it with the fading glory of Sinai.
- The veil over Moses' face
Moses veiled his shining face before the people. Paul uses the veil for a fading covenant and a dulled understanding, removed when anyone turns to the Lord.
