Explained connections
- Why do the nations rage?
Psalm 2 describes kings and rulers plotting against the LORD and his anointed. The Jerusalem believers quote it in prayer after Peter and John are threatened, identifying Herod, Pilate, Gentiles and Israel's leaders as the rulers who gathered against God's anointed, Jesus.
- Peter before the council
Facing the same leaders who condemned Jesus, Peter tells them directly: you are the builders, and Jesus is the rejected stone God has made the cornerstone. He then declares there is salvation in no other name.
