Explained connections
- Sarah called him lord
Overhearing the promise of a son, Sarah laughs and refers to Abraham as 'my lord'. Peter points to Sarah as a model of hope in God for Christian wives.
- More tolerable for Sodom
God hears the outcry against Sodom's sin. Jesus shocks Capernaum by saying it will be more bearable for Sodom on judgement day — because Capernaum saw his miracles and still didn't repent.
- Sarah shall have a son
The LORD promises a son to elderly Sarah within the year. Paul highlights that Isaac came by God's word of promise, not by natural means.
